ROME LASER PATCH: creative repair with laser cutting
An event dedicated to garment repair with laser-cut patches.
In fashion, the laser is a production tool: it delivers clean cuts, controlled engravings and consistent detailing.
At ROME LASER PATCH we use it for one simple, concrete purpose: creatively rescuing a garment with a tear, a hole, a stain, a colour gone dull — and putting it back in the wardrobe with a confident intervention.
For the occasion the whole Chirale workshop will be set up around the theme of repair. You’ll find a selection of fabric patches and decorations already laser-cut and engraved, designed for different materials, along with everything you need to apply them by hand with needle and thread. We’ll guide you in choosing the patch that best fits your garment and its material, finding the most sensible position with respect to the flaw and the lines of the piece, and the best way to fasten it so it stays clean over time and through wear.
It’s a drop-in, free-entry event: come whenever you like, work on your garment and transform it on the spot. In parallel the bench becomes a practical exchange point: materials, solutions, references and useful contacts for anyone working — or wanting to work — in fashion, accessories, prototyping and research.
ROME LASER PATCH will be held on Sunday, 15 February, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm, at Chirale (Via Ignazio Persico 32–34, Rome).
To help us manage the flow, booking on Eventbrite is recommended but not required:
ROME LASER PATCH is also a practical way to find out whether laser cutting can fit into your processes. For those who want to go deeper, we’ve designed a course dedicated to laser cutting on textiles: 27 and 28 February, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm, with limited seats.
During the event you’ll be able to enrol on reserved terms.
